The aim of ASWARA’s Foundation Studies in Creative Arts is to prepare students for entry into Bachelor of Degree (Hons) programs or other relevant degree programs at the National Academy of Arts, Culture and Heritage (ASWARA) or other local universities.

THE OBJECTIVE OF THE PROGRAM:

The objective of the Foundation Studies in Creative Arts is specified as follows:

  1. Acquire knowledge, skills and experience through the process of preparation, production, and management of creative artwork.
  2. Ability to think creatively and critically to plan, produce and interpret basic information about the process and the results of creative artwork.
  3. Competent to use the techniques, skills and basic equipment needed for creative art production technologies.
  4. Able to communicate efficiently and professionally plus able to collaborate to produce production in the field of creative arts.
  5. Apply self-learning skills and basic knowledge in advanced education and employment.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

  1. MUST PASS SPM / SPMV with at least (5) credits, including Bahasa Malaysia; or
  2. PASS UEC with at least Grade B in (3) subjects; or
  3. PASS O-LEVEL with at least Grade C in (5) subjects; or
  4. CANDIDATES HAVE OTHER QUALIFICATIONS approved by the BOARD OF STUDIES OF ASWARA; or
  5. CANDIDATES HAVE OTHER QUALIFICATIONS recognized by the MQA; and
  6. PASS the INTERVIEW set by ASWARA.

 

DIPLOMA PROGRAMMES

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR DIPLOMA COURSES

  1. PASS SIJIL PELAJARAN MALAYSIA (SPM) with credits in Bahasa Melayu AND three other subjects;
  2. OR SIJIL TINGGI PERSEKOLAHAN MALAYSIA (STPM) with one of the principals; and pass an economic subject,
  3. MUST BE A MALAYSIAN CITIZEN aged at least 18 years old on the closing registration date
  4. AND have a basic knowledge and experience in the field of applied
  5. AND HAVE PASSED AN INTERVIEW & AUDITION set by ASWARA

Note:

  • Candidates from Faculty of Theatre and dance will have an audition
  • Faculty of Creative Writing candidates are asked to bring their own finished writing sample
  • Candidates from Faculty of Music will be tested in terms of reading notes and playing musical instruments
  • Candidates from Faculty of Film and Television will be tested in terms of talent to paint storyboard and write storyline also to bring their own finished storyboard, short film or script.
  • Candidates from Faculty of Visual Communication Design and Faculty of Animation & Multimedia will be tested in terms of painting talent

  2. PASS SIJIL ASASI SENI KREATIF ASWARA at least with CGPA 2.00;
  3. OR DIPLOMA ASWARA or OTHER DIPLOMA (LEVEL 4 KKM) at least with CGPA 2.00 and credit SPM BAHASA MELAYU AND
  4. MALAYSIAN UNIVERSITY ENGLISH TEST (MUET) at least Band 1;
  5. AND HAVE PASSED AN INTERVIEW & AUDITION set by ASWARA

Notes:

  • Candidates from Faculty of Theatre and Faculty of Dance will have an audition
  • Faculty of Creative Writing candidates are asked to bring their own finished writing sample
  • Candidates from Faculty of Music will be tested in terms of reading notes and playing musical instruments

  • Candidates must take drawing test and present portfolio to enrol Faculty of Animation & Multimedia programme
  • Candidates from Faculty of Arts & Cultural Management must bring their own resume in the form of soft copy (power point) and hard copy
  • Candidates from Faculty of Visual Communication Design will be tested in terms of painting talent and to bring their own painting (if available)
