Faculty of Fine Arts is a faculty that focuses on the study of visual design. Unlike other universities in Malaysia, the teaching and learning of this faculty combines three areas of design, namely Fine Arts, Graphic Design and sinography. This combination brings its own uniqueness where the focus of study is not only directed to analog and digital visual arts, but also students are taught to translate visual designs of performances and productions.

The faculty also provides systematic, formal and quality top-level learning and study opportunities. The three areas provided will support the development of visual arts talents who are capable of producing visible works of art, producing digital compositions of graphic arts and also the art of translating scripts into performances. It indirectly expands the scope of expertise and employment of graduates in the industry.

BACHELOR OF VISUAL DESIGN WITH HONOURS (MQA / FA 9758)

The Bachelor of Visual design with Honors program offered by ASWARA is a program designed to provide comprehensive knowledge in three main areas, namely:

FINE ARTS

Students will be exposed to a more mature and critical way of producing works in becoming visual artists who are able to compete in the National visual Arts industry.

GRAPHIC ARTS

Students will be exposed to theoretical and practical skills in processing digital art through mastery of using computer software in generating graphic art designs that meet current industry requirements.

Filmography

Students will be exposed to the skills of translating text in the form of scripts and production synopses to the production of background art designs in the success of a production presentation such as commercial tv, drama, film, theater, dance and music concerts.

Teaching and learning focuses more on practical skills in relation to the role, duties, and responsibilities of a designer in an organization, regardless of whether it is a private or government organization, in the field of Creative Arts. Emphasis is given to visual arts education in the form of theoretical, practical and skills with the support and training of lecturers and teachers who are certified and experienced to produce graduates who have creative and critical thinking.

DIPLOMA OF FINE ARTS (MQA/FA 0194)

Diploma in Fine Arts Program is a study that has a high goal to produce employees, artists, painters, sculptors, art lovers who are knowledgeable, creative, civilized and professional. The focus is on art education in the form of theory and practical skills with training support from national teachers based on local heritage and cultural traditions. The Program places special emphasis on the field of Visual Arts includes:

THE ART OF CAT

Students will be exposed to the elements and principles of catan art in addition to mastering the techniques and using catan materials creatively. They will be trained to produce catan works that are able to compete in the country’s visual arts industry.

ART PRINTS

Students will be exposed to the thinking and understanding of the language of printmaking in addition to understanding the methods of the medium, the techniques of conventional printmaking and creative handling of printed materials are then able to work by applying elements of local tradition.

ART SCULPTURE

Students will be exposed to the theoretical and practical understanding of sculpture based on heritage including three-dimensional art processing methods, mastery of materials and the suitability of technology use techniques. It aims to improve the ability of contemporary sculpture production characterized by traditional cultural arts in line with the flow of the Times.

DIPLOMA IN VISUAL COMMUNICATION DESIGN (MQA/FA 5167)

The Diploma Program in Visual Communication Design is a program that focuses on two areas, namely digital graphic design and sinography. Both of these elements have parallels in the need to master digital software technology to help not only develop the field of graphic arts but also become the visual backbone of the field of performing arts.

GRAPHIC DESIGN ARTS

Students will be exposed to the skills of using digital computer software in producing 2D and 3D graphic designs. Students will also be trained to produce analog paintings and photography to further develop creativity that will be translated through design.

Filmography

Students will be exposed to the knowledge and skills of designing the visual background of a performing arts production such as theater, music, dance and film. The skill and effectiveness of visual Communication Design is an important pillar in determining the visual impact of a presentation.
