It has been well over a decade since the National Arts Culture and Heritage Academy ( Akademi Seni Budaya dan Warisan Kebangsaan, ASWARA ) embarked on its mission to raise up new generations of talents for the performing arts scene. Now it is hoped that with the launching of this official website, both Malaysian society as well as the global community may be presented with a closer look at the functions and responsibilities of this institute.
ASWARA is the only institute of higher learning in Malaysia that provides formal training courses in the arts, culture and heritage to Malaysians to birth future scholars, thinkers, writers, motivators and artists who are knowledgeable, professional, resilient and highly capable.
In line with the Malaysian Government's vision of Malaysia as a developed nation by the year 2020, education in the arts, culture and heritage is also an important part of the agenda to develop our country. This is because culture and art have always been integral parts of developed and highly civilized nations to strike a more wholesome balance with the materialistic and physical side.
In line with the development of science and technology, ASWARA has made many great advancements in order to fulfill its functions; nevertheless, it has never neglected the traditional arts that have formed the foundation of the art and culture of this nation; instead it has held fast to its motto: “Moving Forward with Tradition”.
It is our sincere hope that our students, connoisseurs of the arts, champions of the noble arts as well as scholars and researchers in the arts who require our services will be satisfied with the contents of this website, and find what they seek, the fulfillment of their goals.
